A substantial and texturally rich specimen of white baryte from the famed Sugar Bowl Pocket of the Murray Mine, Elko County, Nevada. Chunky, rounded baryte crystals are blanketed in a dense coating of sparkling druzy quartz microcrystals that give the piece an intensely glittery, sugary surface, far more dazzling in person than any photograph can fully capture. The dark grey chalcedony matrix peeking through between the white crystals provides a beautiful tonal contrast, and a small cluster of metallic bladed crystals at the base adds a further point of interest. A hefty, showy hand specimen from one of Nevada's most celebrated mineral pockets.
